Professional Experience

During his doctoral studies, Attorney Xinyu Sun served as Assistant to the Director of the Legal Department of a large state-owned enterprise, accumulating extensive financial practice experience through previous employment at a major state-owned bank. Currently, he serves as a Practice Mentor for the Law Program at Northwest University of Political Science and Law and as Deputy Director of the Litigation Business Research Committee of the Fourth Chaoyang District Lawyers Association. Lawyer Xinyu Sun has been consecutively listed in the Chambers Greater China Region Dispute Resolution: Litigation rankings from 2023 to 2026. He was also recognized as a Tier 1 recommended lawyer in the Asia-Pacific—Greater China Region: Beijing category and as a specially recommended lawyer in the Dispute Resolution: Litigation field by The Legal 500 for 2025–2026.

Practice Areas

Since practicing as an attorney, attorney Sun has taken civil and commercial dispute resolution as his main practice direction, and has represented hundreds of litigation and arbitration cases, including complex cases argued before the Supreme People’s Court of the PLC, which carries great influence. 

Attorney Sun is familiar with legal risk prevention and control. Based on focusing on civil and commercial litigation and arbitration, he has served as a legal adviser to many enterprises, as well as in non-litigation areas such as equity mergers and acquisitions, corporate. He has successfully provided legal services for many enterprises' M&A and restructuring.

During his JD study, lawyer Sun conducted internship as the director assistant of legal department in a large state- owned enterprise in Beijing. Lawyer Sun has worked in a large state-owned bank and has accumulated a wealth of financial experience

Lawyer Sun has been focusing on commercial litigation and arbitration since he began practicing. He has represented clients in more than a hundred cases, and provided legal services for prominent companies like China CITIC Bank, China Minsheng Banking Corp., Ltd., Minmetals Development Co., Ltd., CITIC Asset Management Co., Ltd., CITIC-Prudential Life Insurance Co., Ltd., Shenhua Sales Group Co., Ltd., Beijing Tourism Group Co., Ltd., Da Vinci Home Furnishing Corp., Ltd. and Beijing Tianshi Real-Estate Development Co., Ltd.Shanxi LuAn Mineral (Group) Co., Ltd. Included in these cases are not only novel types cases such as factoring agreement disputes , but also those argued before the Supreme People’s Court of the PLC that have great influence. In addition to his focus on commercial litigation and arbitration, Lawyer Sun also provided legal consulting services for a number of enterprises, and has advised his clients in M&A transactions and debt restructuring.
